EMI/PMC 2012

EMI/PMC: The College of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame is proud to host the 2012 Joint Conference of the Engineering Mechanics Institute and 11th ASCE Joint Specialty Conference on Probabilistic Mechanics and Structural Reliability (EMI/PMC 2012). The joint conference provides a major forum for the exchange of ideas and discussion of recent developments in all mechanics, probabilistic-methods and materials research fields. Researchers, engineers, industry representatives and public officials from all over the world will meet to discuss and tackle new challenges regarding all fields of engineering mechanics and structural reliability. The conference co-chairs, Ahsan Kareem, Tracy Kijewski-Correa and Alexandros Taflanidis and the ASCE organizing committee invite everyone interested in these subject to attend and participate in this upcoming event in Notre Dame, IN. Fourth visit to Haiti, post 2010 quake

Dr. Taflanidis and Engineering2Empower visit Haiti for the fourth time in December 2011 to establish the foundations for an extensive market research program (construction materials and practises as well as cultural preference of Haitians still living in IDP camps). Information obtained will help their mission for providing a new paradigm for sustainable, safe, permanent housing for bottom of the pyramid Haitians [Link]
